ReelShield is a private, on-device protection layer for social feeds. You choose protected apps and filters. Filtering is not perfect.
Accessibility
With your agreement and Android's authorization, ReelShield uses Accessibility to identify the foreground app/window, capture visible screen content in selected apps and place a shield over selected unwanted visuals. It does not tap controls, type messages or request passwords. You can decline or turn access off in Android Settings.
On-device processing
Visible images and text may be processed briefly in memory while protection is active. Images and recognized text are not saved or uploaded. No account is required. The app has no INTERNET permission, advertising trackers or cloud image analysis.
Local data
ReelShield stores protection preferences and basic activity metadata: protected app/package, event ID, time, filter category, optional shield duration and protected-time segments. It does not store what you viewed, screenshots, frame hashes, raw scores or recognized text as activity data. The operating system may retain its own crash/system diagnostics independently.
Bundled on-device processing libraries may keep local setup identifiers and technical diagnostic metadata in app-private storage. These are separate from protection activity, so Clear activity data does not remove them. This build has no Internet permission or automatic diagnostic-upload task. Uninstall removes this local app data.
Permissions
Accessibility enables the core screen-protection feature. A Quick Settings tile is optional. No camera, microphone, location, contacts or broad storage access is requested. Timed pauses use Android's standard inexact alarm mechanism; resumption may be delayed during sleep.

This website & email support
This website contains no analytics, trackers, cookies, scripts or contact forms. It does not receive your screen content or your app’s local protection statistics.
When you visit, the hosting provider handles technical connection data needed to deliver and secure the website. This is separate from ReelShield’s on-device app processing. Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy explains its handling of data.
If you email support, your email address and the information you choose to send will be processed to respond to your request. Please do not send passwords, private screenshots or sensitive browsing content. Email uses your email provider and is separate from the app’s on-device processing.
